Welcome to Washington Law Help (WLH), a  free public library for legal information in Washington State.

Please read these Terms of Use and our statements about privacy and accessibility

By using this website, you agree to these terms of use, which are the rules about using our website and the information on it. The terms of use also limit how you can use the information and forms found on Washington Law Help.

The terms of use may change. We will highlight any changes at the top of these terms so you check back and get the latest version.  Whenever you use WLH, the latest version of these terms apply.

General information, not legal advice

WLH gives information about laws and the legal system in Washington State.

We try to make all of our information plain language and accessible as possible.

We explain the way laws generally work and are usually applied in many common situations, including rights, responsibilities, and requirements.

We discuss options you may have and the steps you may follow in many legal processes.

We do not give legal advice. Legal advice is when a lawyer applies the law to your unique and specific situation and may include recommending a particular option.

Your situation may be very different than the ones we discuss on Washington Law Help.

Information on WLH is not a substitute for talking to a lawyer about your unique and specific situation. We cannot predict or guarantee any outcome in any legal process.

Regular updates

We regularly review and revise the information, forms, and resources on our site, and try to make them as accurate and up to date as we can.

However, the law or legal process may have changed since the last time we have updated the site.

We cannot guarantee any specific outcome for your legal issue.

No attorney - client relationship

Visiting WLH or using our forms or other publications does not create an attorney – client relationship.  Contacting us through our feedback form or any other method also does not create an attorney - client relationship.

We recommend talking to a lawyer if you want specific recommendations on what steps to take next, or assurance that certain information is appropriate to your situation.
